A Starry Night's Dream
written and photographed by Bob Stough
I call this image “A Starry Night’s Dream.” From a remote high knob on North Fork Mountain in West Virginia, the Milky Way galaxy appears. All of the light in this image, except the horizontal glow, is from starlight. On this evening, I had only a short while between the end of astronomical twilight and a gibbous moon rising. I managed to take this while perched on a rocky outcrop. As with all of my night imagery, I try to capture a scene so that the viewer may feel they are standing along with me in the darkness.
